I have been photographing men and the male figure for about 20 years.  Although based in Chicago, I spend a great deal of time traveling,  especially to the wonderful city of San Francisco.  

Prior to 1992 most of my figure work was for personal commissions or shown in galleries. Around that time I started producing work for many of the adult male magazines in the US.  Recently I also started doing work for publications in Mexico and Europe.  If you would like to see some of these images I shot for each publications, click on the publications button on the left.  To see samples of  photographs  that  are more of a personal nature, select the gallery button. .

In the last few years I have been quite busy not only with still photography I also ventured into into the the world of video.  I have shot the still photographs and box covers for dozens of videos and even had the opportunity to film a few.  Check out the video section of this site to find out more. 

The summer of 1996 was a interesting for me. Chicago Boyz was published. This coffee table book is the first book which was exclusively photographed by RVJ Studios.  To see a few images from this book, click on the button on the left. 

Ron Volanti Jr. and RVJ Studios is currently  the official photographer for the International Mr. Leather contest, and has been since 1993. RVJ Studios  has also had the great honor to shoot the front and back covers of the San Francisco Bare Chest Calendar in1998.
